WeraI will be doing my best to keep this article updated as Free Agency goes on.

QB Carson Palmer to Cardinals: My initial thoughts were that LArry Fitzgerald must be happy. While Carson is not an elite quarterback not young anymore, he still has a great arm, easily the best Larry has had since Warner. Palmer has a penchant to be a gunslinger, and the Cardinals tend to play from behind lately, this could be a very nice fantasy pairing between Palmer and Fitzgerald; the acquisition is definitely going to help Fitzgerald return to elite fantasy status.

QB Matt Cassel to Vikings: Reports are stating that Cassel will likely be competing for the Vikings starting role, a competition I would expect him to win at this point. Potentially good news for Vikings receivers, but since their aren’t really any of note besides youngster Kyle Rudolph and Jarius Wright as well as the flash Jerome Simpson, I don’t expect much from Cassel this season. The quarterback position is very strong and with quality QB’s Dalton and Big Ben being ranked in the teens in many rankings, so Cassel won’t be a very relevant name of fantasy and.

WR Percy Harvin to Seahawks: As a huge fan of Percy Harvin and his dynamic play style, I can admit that I really like this move for him as it will likely mean another post-season appearance in the near future as the Seahawks have a very well built team at the moment. As per his fantasy potential, I think Percy can see a bump here as well. In his rookie season Russell Wilson played smart and consistent and appears to be a guy who will be able to get Percy the ball more regularly than Christian Ponder could. Harvin is also reunited with former Vikings WR Sidney Rice, who will continue to stretch the field for the Seahawks while Percy works on the inside on easier passes from Russell. It should also be noted that the current Seahawks offensive coordinator also worked with Harvin in Minnesota for his first two seasons in the league.

A concern with Harvin has always been his health, while he seems to be dealing with the headaches less recently, he still ended up playing in the least amount of games in his career with only nine this past season. If Harvin can play a full season he certainly has a chance to have a career season with the Seahawks. I would not want to overdraft Harvin as the health is a concern, but he has the potential and now the quarterback to become an elite fantasy wide receiver.

WR Wes Welker to Broncos: Wow. Just Wow. Peyton Manning now has Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, and now Wes Welker to work with in 2013! It is going to be tough to determine who is going to see how many targets with three studs to each share targets, but I can’t help but think that Demaryius Thomas is still going to be the top guy for yards, while Decker and Welker are going to be an amazing duel threat in the red zone. Decker is younger but I expect Welker will be able to earn his way above him on the depth chart and in Peyton’s mind. I don’t expect Welker to see the amont of work he had while with New England, but man, he could not have landed in a better spot. I don’t know if he will see the 174 targets he saw last year with New England, but he should still be able to see at least 120 targets with Peyton as his quarterback.

WR Mike Wallace to Dolphins: As a Dolphins fan I must say I am not overly impressed by the club’s off season moves so far. About a week ago we largely over-payed WR Brian Hartline on a multi-year contract despite only having one good game the entire season. And now the team has signed speedy free agent WR Mike Wallace from the Steelers on a five-year contract. The Dolphins certainly needed an upgrade at WR in order to put Hartline in his proper role as a number two receiver, but I am not convinced that he is the right fit for the team. While he is one of the speediest players in the league and forces defenses to account for him on each play, he is not the best route runner and tends to disappear when not catching the deep pass. Combine this with an inexperienced quarterback and the Dolphins may struggle to get as much out of Wallace as he provided in Pittsburgh. Wallace may be able to have a 1000-yard season but I certainly don’t see him getting close to a double-digit touchdown total.

WR Greg Jennings to Minnesota: heading to Minnesota is a big downgrade for Jennings fantasy value as he goes from having one of the games elite quarterbacks to struggling youngster Christian Ponder. While he will be far and away the best option for Ponder, I see him being a low end WR2 at best this coming season. The move is good news Cobb and Nelson who should continue to be solid in Green Bay.

Danny Amendola to Patriots: This is an amazing spot to land for Amendola for his fantasy value as he replaces Wes Welker as the slot receiver in the Patriots offence.OF course health is a concern with Amendola but if he can stay on the field with Tom Brady as his quarterback, he should be able to have a career season. There are still a lot of mouths to feed in New England with Gronk, Hernandez and Lloyd still on the roster, but Amendola should be able to jump right into the role of Welker perhaps gaining 900-1100 yards while doubling his previous touchdown total of three.

Anquan Boldin to ‘49ers: I would be smiling about this move if I were a San Fran fan. Boldin is an experienced, Superbowl winning and strong wide receiver who will help bring another level of pedigree to the ‘49ers team. He will also give Colin Kaepernick another solid receiving option; one who can make tough catches and is reliable on third downs. Boldin is likely to be Kaepernick’s third option at best as Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham will be ahead of him on the depth chart so I do not think the move helps him in any fantasy aspect. I would still keep my eyes on him on draft day as a backup WR as he could carve a role for himself with a young quarterback and a team looking to get back to the Superbowl.

WR Santonio Holmes resigns with Jets: Still only 29 years and the most talented wide reciever on the Jets roster, Santonio Holmes could be a player worthy of having on the your roster if Sanchez can somehow take a stride forward as a quarterback or the newly signed Garrard can return to form (I have no faith in Tim Tebow becoming an NFL QB). He only played in 4 games last season but still averaged five catches per game and scored a touchdown; he had more than 100 targets for 51-654-8 in 16 games in 2011.

WR Donnie Avery to Chiefs: Avery saw a career high 125 targets last season with Andrew Luck as his quarterback, but only caught 60 of them, less than 50%. He also only had 3 games with double-digit fantasy numbers. Heading over to KC where he will now have Alex Smith as his starting quarterback, I don’t think Avery will be able to take a step forward in production anytime soon. The 700+ yards and three scores he had last year might be the best we see from him anytime soon.

RB Reggie Bush to Lions: Reggie (227-986-6) now joins forces with Mikel Leshoure (215-798-9) whom had a pretty nice season last year after missing the first two games due to suspension. My initial thought upon hearing this is that it will hurt both players fantasy value; will either player get more than 200 touches in the coming season? I can’t help but think that the Lions acquired Bush hoping that he can fill the role of Jahvid Best; playing primarily on third downs and as a pass-catcher. It will be interesting to see if the Lions make any announcements about how they plan to share the role between these two talented running backs, but it does seem obvious as they have quite different playing styles.

Rashard Mendenhall to Cardinals: Arizona isn’t the best place for Mendenhall to land for fantasy purposes, but it should be a good pickup for the Cardinals as Mendenhall was a very consistent running back with the Steelers before suffering his knee injury. He is likely going to have trouble having consistent success with a team struggling as much as the Cardinals, but himself is a step in the right direction for the team as they need any form of consistency they can get. Provided Mendenhall gets 200-250 carries, I can see him finishing with 800-1000 yards and 5-7 touchdowns on the ground.

RB Steven Jackson to Falcons: With Michael Turner in an obvious and speedy decline, the Falcons cut bait with the sluggish runner and brought in perennial 1000-yard rusher Steven Jackson to fill the roll. While Jackson is one-year younger than Turner, he still has over 700 more career carries than him, but has shown no real signs of slowing down. Despite spending his entire career in an offence that sucked and was constantly facing defences that knew to focus on him, the bruising back has never had a season of less than 1000-yards except for his rookie season; now that is consistency. I can’t wait to see what Jackson can do inside a high-powered offence and am thinking that we will see Jackson hit double-digit touchdowns for just the second time in his career.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw to

RB Shonne Greene to Titans: The pickup is a good move for the Titans who now get a change of pace powerback to help compliment speedy runner Chris Johnson, but is a bad one for Chris Johnson fantasy potential. CJ has the ability to break massive runs, but also the ability to have negative ones. I imagine Shonn Greene will be used by the Titans towards the goal line and in short yardage situations that CJ has struggled with in the past. I don’t imagine Greene will have much fantasy relevance this year unless the Titans can get to the re zone enough and hand him the ball.

TE Tony Gonzalez resigns with Falcons: It is now official that Tony G will be returning to the Falcons for one more season, which is great news for them as he is still one of the best active tight ends in the game. He is a great on third downs and key to moving the Chains for the Falcons offense. I expect some regression as the Falcons continue to use Julio Jones more and prepare for Gonzalez’s eventual retirement, but still think that he could be a top-5 player at a fairly weak position.

TE Martellus Bennett to Bears: Bennett has a lot of talent as a receiver and could become a consistent part of the Bears offense considering how thin the receiving core is besides Brandon Marshall. He was very streaky for the Giants last season, scoring a touchdown in the first three games of the season, but only had two more the rest of the way. Still, he is coming off a career best 55-626-5 season and should be utilized even more in the Bears offense provided he is not stuck blocking too much.

TE Jared Cook to Rams: Cook is often mentioned as one of the young tight ends in the league with lots of potential that is just waiting to break out. We have seen flashes of it at times with some 60+ yards plays and 7 touchdowns over two season; but he has also had many streaks of being an average player over his four year career. He did make strides last season with a career high four touchdowns despite missing three games and was on pace for a career high in receptions. I don’t expect Cook to become an immediate impact in St. Louis but could be a hot waiver wire player at some point this coming season if he and Sam Bradford form a connection.

TE Delanie Walker to Titans: This is actually a great pickup for the Titans who needed to help out the run game, which this move will help do. Walker is a very underrated tight end and an even better blocker, which should be a boost for RBs Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene. With Jared Cook having been shipped out Walker should see quite a bit of snaps for the Titans, I just worry he will be blocking for many of them. I am hoping that the Titans will at least give Walker more than 50 targets, something that has never happened in his career.

TE Anthony Fasano to Chiefs: While he was largely underused by the Dolphins, Fasano can be a quality receiver. He did wiff on an easy touchdown catch at one point last season but also had some big games during his tenure. I don’t imagine Fasano is going to be the teams starting option at tight end as they also have Tony Moeaki, who is three years younger. Moeaki is coming off knee surgery and it is possible that Fasano was brought in as security.

TE/FB James Casey to Eagles: Listed on most statistical websites as a full back, I imagine Casey will be second tight end option to Brent Celek, but does have excellent red zone credentials. He had three touchdownds in 2012 on only 34 receptions while playing behind Owen Daniels in the Houston Texans offence. Only a late, late round draft day selection in the deepest of leagues.

Top-24 Quarterbacks

1) Drew Brees (NO) – number one on my ‘Top-100 Big Board’ from last season, Brees ended the fantasy season as the top performer with 345 points in standard scoring leagues. With no major changes coming to the Saints offence that I am aware of, I see no reason to think that Brees won’t approach his 4th career and 3rd consecutive 5000-yard season.

2) Tom Brady (NE) – Brady just signed a new 3-year deal with the Patriots and is as motivated as ever to win another title. With <del>Welker</del> Amendola, Gronk, Hernandez and a collection of other talented receivers available to Brady, he should be able to have another 4500+ yard season, and if Gronk plays all sixteen games he may crack 40 touchdowns (he has never gone over 40 other than his 50 TD season).

3) Peyton Manning (DEN) – After watching what Manning did last season I would feel extremely safe draft Manning as my starting quarterback. Quarterbacks can really pour on the points and Manning is almost a lock for 250-300 yards and 2-3 touchdowns on any given week. Peyton already had an extremely talented duo of receivers in Thomas and Decker and now has former Patriot Wes Welker to mix into the offence; must be nice. The addition of Welker should be a boost for Peyton but will likely hurt his own value as well as the value of Decker and Thomas as the trio share targets. The Broncos due have a solid running game however and Manning likely wont be throwing as often as Brady, hence he remains the number three QB.

4) Aaron Rodgers (GB) – Rodgers is as talented a quarterback is there is in the league right now, but in terms of fantasy value he can’t quite match Drew Brees. Over the past two seasons Brees has thrown for 1500+ more yards and five more touchdowns than Rodgers. Losing Greg Jenning doesn’t help but seeing as to how he missed most of last season it is not something new to Rodgers and the Packers. Cobb should continue to grow as a multi talented option for Rodgers while Nelson looks to have a bounce back year. However, his offensive line and the loss of Greg Jennings for good drop Rodgers below Brady and Manning.

5) Matt Stafford (DET) – Stafford has led the league in pass attempts over the past two seasons, but with only one true target to trust in Calvin Johnson, Stafford is often left throwing incompletions and interceptions. He will likely throw for another 4000 or more yards easily again this season, but is going to need help if he is going to throw for 41 touchdowns like he did in 2011. The addition of Reggie Bush to the Lion’s backfield is a great move for Stafford and makes me much more comfortable in trusting him to be a top-5 quarterback in 2013.

6) Cam Newton (CAR) – Finished the season with the 4th highest point total in the league last season, aided by another eight rushing touchdowns to his career total. I see no reason to think that Cam will take any significant step back, and might take a step forward if he can connect on a few more touchdowns to Smith and LaFell.

7) Matt Ryan (ATL) – Ryan had his best year yet, leading the Falcons to a 13-3 record and finally a playoff win over the Seahawks. With Roddy and Julio on the wings and Tony Gonzalez returning for another season, Ryan should be able to tear up opposing defenses again in 2013. It would be nice to see Ryan get close to a 40-touchdown total now that he has cracked 30.

8) Russell Wilson (SEA) – The signing of Percy Harvin is great news for Russell Wilson as he will not have one of the best and most dynamic slot receivers in the game at his disposal. Last season he had 26 touchdowns on over 3100 yards to go along with almost 500 yards and four touchdowns on the ground and will now be able to build upon that with an even better offence this year. The Seahawks have a talented young quarterback with a great new receiver, a bruising running back and a scary defense; Superbowl 2013 appearance?

9) Colin Kaepernick (SF) – With a chance to play a full 16-game schedule ahead of him and an exciting playoff run behind him, Kaepernick has the potential be an elite fantasy quarterback using his mix of a powerful arm and quick legs. The ’49ers also added Anquan Boldin, an experienced, underrated receiver with great hands and good on third downs. Boldin should be another solid option for his young QB, playing behind Crabtree and Manningham.

10) Andrew Luck (IND) – 4374 yards and 23 touchdowns in his rookie season; the sky is the limit for Andrew Luck. At this rate it is only a matter of time before he is approaching 5000 yards in a season and 40+ touchdown totals. While that is not going to be this year, I can very easily see Luck repeat at a 4000-yard passer while getting near 30 touchdowns. Luck also rushed for five touchdowns as a rookie; he just needs to cut down on the interceptions.

11) Robert Griffin III (WAS) – The big concern about RGIII going into the 2013 season is the knee injury he suffered at the end of last season that resulted in offseason surgery. The injury may mean that Griffin won’t be quite as effective as a rusher, but the kid still has an amazing arm and head on his shoulders and will still be much more mobile than most NFL quarterbacks. Griffin might not repeat at the 5th ranked fantasy player at the end of the season, but he should still be very effective.

12) Eli Manning (NYG) – It was a pretty disappointing year for those (I was one) who drafted Eli expecting similar stats to his 2011 campaign; Eli threw for 100 less yards and three less touchdowns. Nicks missed a few games and Cruz took an obvious step back statistically, so perhaps I should have seen the drop off coming. However, with a WR combo as potent as Nicks and Cruz, I feel as though Eli should be able to be a 4000-yard, 30-touchdown quarterback.

13) Tony Romo (DAL) – Although it looked rather ugly at times, Tony Romo ended up haing the season that Eli had the year before with 4900 yards and close to 30 touchdowns. The explosion of Dez Bryant as one of the most talented wide receivers in the league certainly helped Romo pick up his play in the second half of the season (15 TDs over last 6 weeks).

14) Andy Dalton (CIN) – Dalton was a wonderful backup quarterback for me last year, replacing Eli Manning for a string of weekends and coming through with multiple three-touchdown performances. AJ Green is an undeniable star while Sanu, Hawkins and Gresham all found ways to have an impact last season. The Bengals have an improving offence that is capable of throwing 30 touchdowns.

15) Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) – Russell Wilson’s passing stats alone match Big Ben’s point total from last year. Ben went down in pass yards, up in touchdowns but for the second year in a row didn’t rush for a single touchdown. The Steelers offence just doesn’t move the ball well enough at the moment for me to trust Big Ben as anything more than a mid-range QB2.

16) Michael Vick (PHI) – If the Eagles are going to pay Michael Vick anywhere even near $10 million bucks this season then I am going to assume for the time being that he is going to be the week one starter over Nick Foles. Even if Vic does start, it is impossible to say when/if he gets hurt, or when/if Foles will replace him. Still, drafting him is very tempting as he has been a beast in the past and has talented wide receivers to work with.

17) Philip Rivers (SD) – Rivers and the Chargers struggled heavily last year at moving the ball in the air and on the ground. Rivers failed to throw for more than 4000 yards for the first time since 2007 and only surpassed 300 yards in a game twice all season. The loss of Vincent Jackson is the obvious excuse, while Antonio Gates was a shadow of his former self last year. The emergence of Danario Alexander could help Rivers return to form a bit this coming season, but I still think he and the Chargers are going to struggle similar to last year.

18) Joe Flacco (BAL) – The $120 million dollar man Joe Flacco had career highs in passing yards (3817) and rushing touchdowns (3) while throwing for a career second best 22 touchdowns. All of this and he still ended up outside of the top-12 quarterbacks last season; money well spent Baltimore. They also have much less money available to work with to sign the working parts around Flacco; we have already seen the effect of this with Boldin being traded to the ’49ers for almost nothing.

19) Josh Freeman (TB) – Freeman went for a career high 4065 yards and 27 touchdowns with Vincent Jackson in town, an addition that also helped the production of WR Mike Williams.

20) Matt Schaub (HOU) – Schaub was able to throw for 4000 yards again in a full 16-game season, but with only 22 passing touchdowns was nothing more than a low end QB2 most of the time. If Schaub is going to take a step forward and become a potential QB1 he is going to need some help, Andre Johnson is not what he used to be and doesn’t have enough talent around him to stop the constant double-teams.

21) Jay Cutler (CHI) – I think of Cutler much like I think of Schaub, they both have an uber-talented wide receiver to connect with, but not enough supporting units to put up big numbers consistently. Cutler also has to deal with a constantly struggling offensive line. I don’t see Cutler hitting the 30-touchdown mark (career high of 27) unless the Bears make some drastic moves to help him.

22) Jake Locker (TEN) –

23) Sam Bradford (STL) –

24) Carson Palmer (OAK) –

Twitter: Blackie_Mike

Top-36 Running Backs

1) Adrian Peterson (MIN) – Coming off a 2000+ yard season I don’t think I need to explain why Adrian Peterson will be the top-ranked running back in every rankings list you look at this offseason/preseason.

2) Arian Foster (HOU) – It is a little worrisome that Foster is coming off a career-high and league-high 351 carries last year while also having a career low 4.1 yards per carry (ypc) average. However, Foster still rushed for 15 touchdowns last season and has just over 1000 carries for his career and should still be a top running back for a few more seasons.

3) Marshawn Lynch (SEA) – Lynch continues to be a monster in a Seattle offence that loves to give him the ball 20 times a game. Lynch had four straight 100+ yard games with 5 rushing touchdowns in that span to finish the 2012 regular season; the breakout play of QB Russell Wilson could help keep teams from only focusing on Lynch.

4) Doug Martin (TB) – An much talked about rookie going into fantasy drafts last season, Martin exploded onto front page of the fantasy world in week eight when he rushed for 251 yards and four touchdowns. By the end of the season Martin had 1454 yards and twelve total touchdowns; numbers that will be hard to match for a sophomore runner but still too tempting to let slide to far in drafts.

5) Alfred Morris (WAS) – 1613 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns in his rookie season, Alfred Morris was one of the biggest (yet quietest) surprise stars of the 2012 fantasy football season. While those numbers are certainly going to hard to reproduce, the talent is certainly there; and it might help that RGIII gets most of the attention.

6) Trent Richardson (CLE) – Despite playing for a lowly Browns team and having a rather underwhelming 3.6 ypc average for the season, Richardson was still a star in his rookie campaign with 950 yards on the ground and 11 rushing touchdowns. While it is very easy to pick on the Browns, they were a bit better last year and now have an extremely talented young running back to build around.

7) Jamaal Charles (KC) – Charles ran for a career high 1509 yards last season, good for 4th best in the league. His fantasy potential is bogged down however by the struggles of the Chiefs offence, resulting in only five rushing touchdowns. The Chiefs have made a move to acquire Alex Smith from the ‘49ers, but I am hesitant to think that Smith will be an instant fix to a team that has talent, but can’t seem to put it together at the moment. Anyways, Charles should have another monster season with yardage, here is to hoping that he can find pay dirt more often.

8) C.J. Spiller (BUF) – Spiller is a hard guy to rank for me at the moment, as he is not going to be a bell-cow style running back such as the guys mentioned before his. He is however one of the most talented young running backs in the league and capable of being a top-five player at his position. The Bills must know how valuable Spiller is to the future of their franchise and will hopefully give him enough opportunities to shine in 2013.

9) LeSean McCoy (PHI) – The Eagles have parted ways with longtime coach Andy Reid, which I am hoping brings a fresh start to a team that is loaded with talent but has not been able to put it all together for a few seasons in a row now. We seem to have seen the best (20 total touchdowns) and worst (5 total touchdowns) of McCoy over the past two seasons; in 2013 I think McCoy will be able to return to form with a 1000+ yard double-digit touchdown season.

10) Ray Rice (BAL) – Rice is usually a top-5 ranked running back, and while he will likely have another solid season, his upside seems to be waning a bit recently and might be affected by Bernard Peirce who had a very nice rookie season in Baltimore. Baltimore’s offseason fire sale doesn’t make drafting him at the moment any more tempting.

11) Steven Ridley (NE) – Even though I despise the Patriots for dominating my division for a decade, I will still gladly draft their starting running back to my fantasy football team. I am confident that Ridley will make a great run at matching or even beating his 2012 totals of 1263 yards and 12 touchdowns rushing. The only downside I can think of is that he only had 51 yards receiving all of last season.

12) Darren McFadden (OAK) – There was so much expectation on DMC last season, none of which he lived up too. McFadden suffered no major, season-ending injury, he got tons of carries; but he could not get anything going. Despite the extremely disappointing totals of 707 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, I still think McFadden can be a top-10 running back in 2013; he is way to talented to fall off like this.

13) Steven Jackson (ATL) – Jackson must be excited to be playing for a playoff calibre team once again now that he has joined the Atlanta Falcons. Michael Turner had dropped off a cliff, and despite having a ton more career carries than Turner, Jackson has maintained his status as a 1000-yard rusher every season since he was a rookie back in 2004. While age and milage are still concerns, I have to believe that he is going to be better now that he has a potent offence to work within and a post season to play for.

14) Chris Johnson (TEN) – It was a bit of a bounce-back year for CJ as he ran for an impressive 1243 yards to go along with 6 touchdowns on the ground. He still failed to score a passing touchdown for the second straight ear and had a career low in receiving yards at 232. I think another 1500 total yard season with upwards of 10 total touchdowns isn’t out of the question for Johnson this coming season, but is likely his ceiling. Side note: he recently told the media he did not want to share carries.

15) Matt Forte (CHI) – Forte took a step forward in fantasy value last season, playing in 15 games and despite having Michael Bush in town. He did however only have three games over 100 yards rushing and 1434 total yards; there is still room for improvement for Forte and the Bears offence.

16) Frank Gore (SF) – Gore is coming off almost identical rushing seasons of 1200+ yards and 8 touchdowns; he even added 100+ receiving yards and a touchdown in 2012. Gore is one of my favourite running backs, plays on a great offence that consistently gives him 15-20 carries per game. Age is certainly catching up with Gore but he should be good for another 1000+ yard season and a great RB2 option.

17) Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX) – MJD is another hard player to rank at the moment as he likely has contract talks to deal with and didn’t play a single snap last season after going out with an injury in week six. One would expect that Drew is going to be healthy for the upcoming season and has a world of talent, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered before draft days.

18) DeMarco Murray (DAL) – Tons of talent, just as much injury risk. At this point, I can’t see myself drafting Murray as an RB1 due to the risk of him missing multiple games such as he has his first two seasons in the league. Still though, the potential is too high to let him slip past as a RB2 option.

19) Darren Sproles (NO) – Sproles took a step back as a rusher last season, but was able to duplicate his receiving stats with 667 yards and 7 touchdowns; after recovering from a broken hand he finished the season with four consecutive double-digit fantasy efforts. With the bounty-gate scandal now mostly behind them and Sean Payton back at the helm, I am expecting the Saints, and Sproles to play a bit better this season.

20) Reggie Bush (DET) – Reggie Bush ended up a Lion via free agency and will be joining the backfield with Mikel Leshoure. As a Dolphins fan I liked Reggie and hope he does well in Detroit and believe he can. The Lions desperately need some talented players to help out Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson on the offence, and Bush should fit that bill well as a an agile runner with great pass catching abilities; Bush could easily end up with 50-70 catches from the Detroit backfield. Leshoure is going to steal some carries and is more of a downhill runner than Bush, meaning he could see more goal-line work, but Bush should see the majority of work on a weekly basis.

21) David Wilson (NYG) – With Ahmad Bradshaw out the door, 2nd year running back David Wilson should get many more opportunities to impress the football world in 2013. Wilson exploded onto the scene late last season when he rushed for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries against the Saints. The sample size is still very small for the time being, but there seems to be too much potential in Wilson for the Giants to not use him much more in the future. The biggest concern to me is that Andre Brown is still around and should still see a good amount of work near the goal line.

22) Lamar Miller (MIA) – With Reggie Bush not likely to be a Dolphin next season and more rumours going around that the team doesn’t plan on pursuing Daniel Thomas much longer, 2nd year running back Lamar Miller could end up being a decent late round pickup as a RB3 option and has potential to be a break out player.

23) LeVeon Bell (PIT) - The Steelers now have a fresh, talented young running back that they can run into the ground over the next couple of seasons. He was not the first RB taken in the 2013 draft, but has the chance to be the best fantasy option as the Steelers starting runner.

24) Rashard Mendenhall (ARZ) – Mendenhall will return to his role as a starter in the NFL this coming season as a new member of an Arizona Cardinals team that needs to address numerous positions this off-season. The good news for Mendenhall is that he will see a consistent workload each week as one of the more talented and consistent players on the team, but he will be running behind a soft offensive line and inside of a struggling offence; Rashard will get his carries, but will struggle for touchdowns.

25) Montee Ball (DEN) - As it currently stands, Ball joins a Broncos backfield that also has Ronnie Hillman, Knowshon Moreno and Willis McGahee all still on the roster. While it is likely that one of these players will be released, it is still going to be a 2-3 headed running attack employed by Denver this season. Ball is not in line to become an every down back but he has potential and is the Bronco RB that I would be targeting in fantasy drafts.

26) Ryan Mathews (SD) – Mathews went off a bit of a cliff in 2012 with only one touchdown on the season after scoring 13 in the two seasons prior. Mathews also never once topped 100 yards rushing in a game last season. I am expecting Mathews to be better this time around, but should be drafted as a low end RB2 at best for now.

27) Vick Ballard (IND) – Ballard did not have a whole lot of fantasy production last season, scoring only three touchdowns on the season, but he was a nice addition to any lineup late in the season having double digit fantasy points in each of the final three weeks and seemingly earning the starting running back roll for the Colts with Donald Brown continuing to impress no one.

28) Eddie Lacy (GB) - Lacy looks to take over as the starting running back for the Green Bay Packers, a team that has not had a dependable runner for quite a few season and could really use in order to balance their offence. There are more talented rookie runners in the league this year, but few have been put into a better position than Lacy in the Bay. The Packers also drafted Jonathan Franklin in the draft and he will be sharing carries with Lacy, but it is Lacy that I am targeting as a possible breakout rookie.

29) Chris Ivory - Ivory brings a career 5.1 yards per carry average over his first three season to his new team the Jets. A bruising power runner, Ivory should fit very well into the style of play that the Jets play. Ivory had been stuck in a committee of RBs while playing in New Orleans, but should be able to break out of his shell as the starter in New York.

30) Shane Vereen (NE) - Vereen could be a very useful change of pace for the Patriots this season, a team that doesn’t appear to have the same oomph as in previous years. Vereen is a much better pass-catcher than Stevan Ridley and should also get to see the field a lot of 3rd and passing downs.

31) Mikel Leshoure (DET) – Leshoure was handed the ball a minimum of 10 times in each game for the Lions last year; he finished the season with 1012 total yards and 9 touchdowns while missing two games. Depending on what the Lions do with their backfield this offseason (rumours of Reggie Bush…), Leshoure should be able to improve upon his 2012 totals, perhaps becoming a 1000-yards, 10-touchdown rusher.

32) BenJarvus Green-Ellis (CIN) – The Law Firm finished the 2012 season strong with four 100+ yard performances and three touchdowns over the final six weeks. I have never enjoyed watching Green-Ellis play but can’t deny that he has been surprisingly effective as member of both the Patriots and the Bengals last year. A 3rd 1000-yard season could very well be in the books for Green-Ellis once again.

33) Fred Jackson (BUF) – 2012 was another injury-plagued season for Jackson, who is now another year older and competing with an extremely talented young running back in C.J. Spiller. Jackson is still going to have a roll with the Bills this coming season but it is going to continue to be diminished. Jackson might be RB3/Flex option at best in 2013.

34) Andre Brown (NYG) – Another stellar waiver wire pickup from last season, Brown was the Giants goal-line back for the first ten weeks of the season, scoring eight touchdowns in that time. If Ahmad Bradshaw does not return to the team it seems extremely likely that Brown would return to his role as the Giants backup running back and goal-line work horse.

35) Jonathan Stewart (CAR) – Stewart was only able to play in nine games last season, resulting in only 500 total yards and two touchdowns. As a result DeAngelo Williams ended up having quite a bit of work late in the season. I see no reason to think that if healthy, the duo will return to sharing the workload, making both RB3/Flex plays at best.

36) Mark Ingram (NO) – Another five touchdowns for Ingram in his sophomore season with the Saints and another 125 yards on the ground to go with it. Though still stuck in a committee, Ingram should be able to take another step forward as the alpha and go to man for the Saints, who move the ball very well.

Twitter: @Blackie_Mike

Top-36 Wide Receivers

1) Calvin Johnson (DET) – Odds are Matt Stafford is going to target Calvin Johnson a ton again this season, and odds are Johnson is going to catch a lot of them. The five-touchdown total from last season was an obvious disappointment but he did have a NFL record 1964 receiving yards. This year it would be wise to assume he drops off in yardage but gets back to double-digit touchdown range.

2) A.J. Green (CIN) – Green was electric for the majority of last year, scoring ten touchdowns over the first ten weeks of the season before finishing with only eleven. Him and Dalton both improved from their impressive rookie seasons and could take another step forward going into their 3rd years.

3) Brandon Marshall (CHI) – Marshall catches almost everything that comes his way and Cutler obviously loves targeting him. 1508 yards and 11 touchdowns were career highs for Marshall, but I think he is capable of an even higher touchdown total. Marshall was also very consistent last year, scoring touchdowns in nine different weeks.

4) Dez Bryant (DAL) – Dez was an absolute monster at times last season. From weeks 11-16 he hauled in 9 of his 12 touchdowns for the season to go with 721 yards; one of the greatest fantasy outputs I have ever seen by a wide receiver. Bryant appears to truly be one of the most gifted players in the league and should see a ton of targets from Tony Romo this season. If he can sustain a full-effort 16-game season he could give Calvin a run for his title as the top wide out in the league.

5) Julio Jones (ATL) – Julio Jones and Roddy White were neck and neck for fantasy points at the end of the season with Jones getting the slight edge due to his ten-touchdown total. In his 3rd season I’m expecting Jones to move ahead of Roddy a bit more.

6) Percy Harvin (SEA) – With the trade to the Seahawks a done deal I now feel even more confident in placing Harvin as my sixth overall wide receiver. In his rookie season Russell Wilson played better than Ponder in his first two and should be more capable in getting Harvin the ball consistently. Health is always a concern with Harvin but he has the potential and now the quarterback to become an elite fantasy starter.

7) Demaryius Thomas (DEN) – Thomas lived up to every expectation I had for him last season, going off for 1434 yards and ten touchdowns with Peyton Manning slinging him the ball. The Broncos should be just as solid this season and could be an even better one for Demaryius.

8) Andre Johnson (HOU) – Johnson has always had the knock against him that he has never had a double-digit touchdown season. He had a career high in yards last season with 1598 but the 2012 total of four touchdowns was still not enough to live up to expectations. Johnson needs to double his touchdown total once again in 2013 to become a top-5 wide receiver once again.

9) Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) - The obvious reason for the big move from the 21st overall WR spot to the 9th overall WR spot is the Cardinals acquisition of QB CArson Palmer, a veteran gunslinger. Perhaps instantly boosting him to the top-10 is a bit drastic, but I can’t help but think that a gunslinger like Palmer, playing on a bad team, is going to end up throwing the ball a lot, and throw it to Fitzgerald. Everyone knows how much talent Fitzgerald has and that he has simply lacked a decent quarterback of the last few seasons. While Carson may not be elite or as good as he once was, he is much better than Skelton or Kobb and should be a great fantasy boost for Larry.

10) Vincent Jackson (TB) – In his first season with the Buccaneers Jackson did not disappoint having a career year with 1384 yards and eight touchdowns, finishing as the 6th ranked wide receiver in fantasy football. With the Buccaneers possessing a solid offence and weak defense, Jackson could be an even better fantasy performer this coming season as the Tampa continues to struggle to win games.

11) Randall Cobb (GB) – Cobb emerged last season as one of fantasy football’s biggest surprises, going off for an impressive 954 yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. The talented young receiver also was a huge part of the return game, returning over 1100 yards and scoring a punt return touchdown. I only imagine Cobb is going to become even more involved in the Packers offence.

12) Roddy White (ATL) – White has a another solid year with 1351 yards and seven touchdowns, be he did go from a career high 181 targets in 2011 to 143 in 2012. I don’t doubt Roddy will be great fantasy wide receiver again this coming season, but he may fall out of the top-10 for his position.

13) Pierre Garcon (WAS) – It didn’t feel like it but Garcon played in ten games last season, though he was far from healthy in most of them. In what time he did get on the field Garcon was extremely impressive, going for 100 yards and a touchdown in week one. From how he looked when healthy, and how electric RGIII was, I am expecting Garcon to have a career season in a full season.

14) Danario Alexander (SD) – One of the biggest mid-season waiver wire pickups of last season, Danario started in nine games, going off for 658 yards and seven touchdowns. Danario is a big, tall receiver like Vincent Jackson was and seemed to assume that role rather naturally. At the pace he played at last season he should definitely make a run at 1000 yards and eight or more touchdowns.

15) Reggie Wayne (IND) – The five-touchdown total from last year wasn’t the best but his 1355 yards tied for the second best total of his career. With Andre Luck under centre and developing into one of the leagues elite passers, I am expecting Wayne to have similar yardage with a few more scores hopefully.

16) Victor Cruz (NYG) – Cruz too the step back that many people like myself were expecting, going from over 1500 yards as a rookie to less than 1100 in his sophomore season. He was targeted more and caught more passes so his YPC went down drastically which was basically a guarantee, there was no way he was going to keep up his rookie pace. Going into his third year I would think that Cruz is capable of finding some sort of median, perhaps 1200 yards and 9-11 touchdowns.

17) Danny Amendola (NE) – Amendola gets a huge boost from the signing in New England, in a sense replacing the departed Wes Welker as the teams slot receiver Amendola is arguably more athletic than Welker and has the potential to excel inside the PAtriots offence, but he is going to need to stay on the field in order for that to happen. As for now I don’t trust the health o Amendola to make him a top-12 WR, but he does have the potential.

18) Wes Welker (DEN) – Now a Bronco, Welker has the luxury of going from one elite passer to another. I don’t think many people are going to expect the kind of stats and targets that he saw while in New England, but he should still be a solid WR2 option as he learns to play with Manning.

19) Marques Colston (NO) – Colston had the second best season of his entire career in 2012, going for 1154 and ten touchdowns as the Saints struggled without Sean Payton. I don’t know if he is poised to take a step forward with Peyton returning, but I do think Colston is one of the safest WR2’s you can draft.

20) Jordy Nelson (GB) - Nelson took a huge step back in 2012; he missed four games, caught eight less touchdowns and 400 less yards. Coming off a 15-touchdown season in 2011, his 2012 totals were very disappointing. Randall Cobb ended up emerging as the Packers top threat, playing an effective roll out of the backfield and as a slot receiver. I am expecting Randall Cobb to be the safer option again this season. Greg Jennings signing with the Vikings should help Nelson reestablish himself.

21) Hakeem Nicks (NYG) – When you look at the stats, it wasn’t a pretty season for Nicks; he missed three games but was still targeted 100 times by Eli Manning, only catching 53 of them (76/133 – 79/128 in two seasons prior). Now, It was no secret that Nicks was attempting to play through injury and should be healthy this time around and should hopefully return to 2010/11 form.

22) Eric Decker (DEN) – While Thomas is the most athletic wide receiver that the Broncos have, Decker might have the best hands. Decker was a redzone favourite of Manning last season, scoring touchdowns in bunches including five in the final three weeks for a season total of 13.

23) Antonio Brown (PIT) – Brown is one player I have been having trouble trying to establish a rakning for since Mike Wallace signed with Miami. Brown sees a high volume of targets and can be a dynamic player, but has struggled with scoring touchdowns, but was able to grab a career high five in 13 games last season. He is going to need to take a step forward as a starting wide receiver for the Steelers this season and should see a good bump in fantasy value based on usage alone.

24) Cecil Shorts (JAX) – While playing in 14 games, with either Blaine Gabbert or Chad Henne (had his moments) as his quarterback, second year receiver Shorts had a very productive season, hauling in 979 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. With two more games available to him this coming season (provided he can avoid concussions), Cecil could have a 1000-yard season in his third season. If Maurice Jones-Drew returns as a Jaguar, and with the growth of Shorts and Blackmon, they could have a decent offence this season.

25) Jeremy Maclin (PHI) – As much as I like cheering for Maclin have targeted him as a WR2/3 in recent seasons, I can’t deny that he keeps on disappointing me a little. Maclin is still yet to have a 1000-yard season and has 12 touchdowns over the past two seasons while having ten in 2011. While Maclin is capable of breaking out with a career season at any time, I am growing tired of waiting for it.

26) Dwayne Bowe (KC) – Another wide receiver I love to cheer for but has been stuck with mediocre quarterbacks for awhile now. While Smith is likely to be an upgrade to Matt Cassel, I don’t know that he will be enough to take Bowe to an elite level that most believe he is capable of. This past season was Bowe’s worst since playing only 11 games in 2009. He also just signed a five-year contract and won’t be playing for a contract anymore.

27) Kenny Britt (TEN) – I had hoped last season that Britt was slide in drafts, which he did, but would return in the early weeks of the season and start playing like we had seem him do in the past (775/9 in 2010). What ended up happening was Britt played in 14 games and saw a career high in targets at 90, but only caught half of them for 589 yards and four touchdowns. I am expecting to Britt to be healthier and play more consistently in 2013, but I don’t know if I trust him for a 1000-yard, high touchdown total season.

28) Mike Wallace (MIA) – Now a member of my Miami Dolphins, I don’t think Wallace is going to have as good of a season as he might have been capable of having in Pittsburgh. Tannehill has a strong enough arm to get Walace the ball deep, but might not have accuracy and trust of the coaching staff to get enough opportunities to do so. As much as a want to like the Wallace signing I currently feel as though he is too dependent on his speed to be effective on a weekly basis with a sophomore quarterback.

29) Steve Smith (CAR) – Easily the wide receiver I over evaluated the most last preseason, ranking him as a top-5 wide receiver, expecting him to have an even better season than he had when Cam was a rookie. Instead Smith had 220 fewer yards in 2012 and four touchdowns compared to seven.

30) Torrey Smith (BAL) – Smith had a very similar sophomore season compared to his first, he saw 110 targets compared to 95 (caught one less pass though), went for 855 yards compared to 841 and had eight touchdowns compared to seven; not a bad season once again. It was however, not a great season for fantasy purposes. Torrey only caught a touchdown pass in six different weeks of the season and only had one touchdown after week ten. Torrey is going to need to become less of a boom or bust player for me to consider him a top-24 fantasy receiver.

31) Josh Gordon (CLE) – Gordon had a great string of games last season from weeks 5-7, catching 240 yards and four touchdowns in three games. Over the final nine weeks however, Gordon only had one more touchdown catch. I am hoping/expecting him to take a step forward in his 2nd season, but also worry that the Browns offence will continue to struggle and Gordon will won’t have many touchdowns again.

32) Tavon Austin - One of the most talked about and talented skill players of the 2013 draft, Austin is poised to become an immediate playmaker for the Rams in the coming season. With not much to work with at the receiving spots currently, Rams quarterback Sam Bradford will be looking for Austin early and often this year and could be worthwhile fantasy starter from week one. I am looking for Austin to be a quality WR3 this season.

33) Greg Jennings (MIN) – A big downgrade for Greg Jennings potential as he goes from having Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback to having Christian Ponder. The biggest upside for Jennings is that he will be the best option for Ponder by a margin and should see a good number of targets, though we all saw last year how Ponder was capable of sub 100-yard games.

34) DeSean Jackson (PHI) – I have never liked DeSean Jackson as a fantasy wide receiver, he is extremely hit and miss and is not the most motivated player in the world from what I can tell. He missed five games this season and ended up with the worst statistical season of his career. Between all the questions surrounding the Eagles and the inconsistent play of Jackson throughout his career, he is again at WR3 at best in my mind.

35) TY Hilton –

36) Lance Moore –

It’s week seventeen (17) of the Fantasy Football season, and as such, most fantasy football seasons have come to an end. If however, you are in one of the few and stupid leagues that hosts its championship in the final week of the season, I hope this post will help you make the right choices for your lineup. For starters, there are a handful of teams taking the field this weekend that will have little, if nothing to play for due to their playoff spot already being set. Those teams are listed below and you will definitely want to reconsider starting the players from them, even the studs.

Teams with very little to play for: Colts, Ravens, Bengals, and Falcons.

Start ‘em:

Eli has not been one to be trusted this year, but should be dynamite in a must win game against the Eagles.

(NYG) Eli Manning vs. (PHI) – With the playoffs on the line and a terrible Eagles secondary the first thing between them, I expect big things from Eli Manning and the boys this weekend. Eli should be a lock for 20+ fantasy points, possibly one of his best games of the season.

(SEA) Russell Wilson vs. (STL) – If Wilson can score the amount of fantasy points he did against the ‘49ers, then I would think he will be able to do something similar against the Rams. Russell could strengthen the argument that he deserves offensive rookie of the ear.

Greene came through for me last week against the Chargers and should be very good for owners again against the Bills.

(NYJ) Shonn Greene vs. (BUF) – Greene was very good last week for fantasy owners as he scored a pair of touchdowns against the Chargers despite only running for less than 40 yards. This weekend I think he has another good game against the Bills.

(CAR) DeAngelo Williams vs. (NO) – Can’t say I thought Williams would be as good as he has been the last couple of weekends, but I also can’t deny it. If I needed a running back in week seventeen I might take a look at Williams if he is available, New Orleans has been better against the run lately but are still a pretty bad defense.

(DAL) Miles Austin vs. (WAS) – Dez Bryant is an absolute monster, and with that comes tons of attention from defenses. Tight end Witten is also a target monster, but Miles Austin has a good chance of grabbing a touchdown this weekend as the Cowboys visit the Redskins in what is one of the most important match ups of the week seventeen.

(MIN) Kyle Rudolph vs. (GB) – The Vikings are fighting for a playoff spot, and Rudolph is the best receiving option that Ponder has. He isn’t hauling in a ton of yards but you have to roll with him and hope for a touchdown.

Sit ‘em:

(BAL) Joe Flacco vs. (CIN) – Flacco was in fine form last week at home in a win against the Giants, but obviously, I wouldn’t expect anything close to the same in week seventeen against the Bengals on the road. Neither team has a lot to play for either way as the Ravens will own the better division record even if the Bengals even the seasons records at 10-6.

Stafford needs more help than just Calvin to be an elite level quarterback for fantasy owners.

(DET) Matthew Stafford vs. (CHI) – Besides Calvin Johnson, Stafford really has no other receivers helping him out, if you are in the playoffs and have Matt Stafford starting against the Bears, I might consider another option; Calvin alone can not get Stafford all of the stats he needs to be an elite quarterback in fantasy.

I wouldn’t trust Jackson this weekend against the vaunted Seattle defense.

(STL) Steven Jackson vs. (SEA) – Seattle has been one scary defensive unit recently, and offence even, making things even harder for opposing running backs. I expect the Rams to be playing from behind and don’t see Jackson getting more than 15 carries or 70 or so yards on the ground.

(IND) Vick Ballard vs. (HOU) – Ballard was a disappointment for me last week as a member of the start ‘em side of the list against a bad Chiefs team; I don’t think I would be putting him in my lineup against Houston if I needed a good starter in the final week.

There is a good chance Green won’t play the full game in week seventeen, and should be replaced in your fantasy lineup.

(CIN) A.J. Green vs. (BAL) – As mentioned before the Bengals don’t have a lot to play for with the Ravens having the division locked up, and so I A.J. Green could be a huge risk to start if the Bengals decide to stop playing early in the game.

(PIT) Mike Wallace vs. (CLE) – Wallace might not play in week seventeen due to an injury, and if he does could see a good dose of Joe Haden, one of the top defensive backs in the league.

(SF) Vernon Davis vs. (ARZ) – With nine catches for 56 yards in his last four games combined, I don’t think I really need to go into detail about why you should sit Vernon Davis this weekend.

Week Sixteen! Superbowl week for most, semi-finals for some. Best of luck everyone!

I only hope these suggestions help you; trust your gut!

Find me on Twitter: @Blackie_Mike

Start ‘em:

(STL) Sam Bradford vs. (TB) – For someone who had such potential when he came into the league as a rookie, Sam Bradford as been a very quiet name in the fantasy landscape this past season only throwing for three touchdowns twice all season, including last week. There are two main reasons why Bradford could be a good start once again this weekend. Sam tends to play much better when he has Danny Amendola available, and will get to play the struggling Buccaneers who just got dominated by the Saints. Unfortunately though the Rams will be on the road.

Flacco is at home for week sixteen, where he routinely plays better and gets the struggling Giants.

(BAL) Joe Flacco vs. (NYG) – Joe Flacco tends to play much better at home and the Giants were so bad last week against the Falcons that I think I just might be able to bring myself to start Flacco should I need to. The Giants may come back this weekend pissed off and ready to roll the also struggling Ravens, but I think Flacco has a decent game as he spreads the ball around at home to Torrey, Boldin and Pitta.

With Daniel Thomas out, Reggie Bush should see a heathy workload against a bad Bills defense.

(MIA) Reggie Bush vs. (BUF) – Bush was a massive dud for me a couple weeks ago when he played the Bills, rushing the balls ten times for a measly 20 yards. This week, in a rematch against the Bills I am depending on Miami to give him closer to 15-20 carries which should be more than enough to have a much better game than last time. Daniel Thomas is also unlikely to play which is a huge boost to Bush.

(DEN) Knowshon Moreno vs. (CLE) – With over 400 yards and three touchdowns on the ground alone since taking over the starting role a few weeks ago, Moreno has basically cemented himself as one of the league top rushers; largely helped by the potency of Peyton Manning and the passing game. Moreno will have 100 total yards at least against the Browns.

(NYJ) Shonn Greene vs. (SD) – I have always hated Greene in fantasy football for whatever reason, and perhaps it is time I got over my bias. Greene now has over 950 yards for the season to go along with six touchdowns (granted, three of them came in one game), even while splitting carries with Bilal Powell. This weekend the Jets will play the Chargers, the same Chargers who let Mike Tolbert rush for a pair of touchdowns against them last weekend while letting DeAngelo Williams run for 93 yards. Shonn and Bilal should see quite a few opportunities to score some fantasy points in week sixteen. Bilal may be the better choice if he gets a few goal line carries.

Ballard will get the starting role against the Chiefs defense as Donald Brown is on the IR.

(IND) Vick Ballard vs. (KC) – With Donald Brown on the IR, Vick Ballard should see a healthy workload of carries in week sixteen against the Chiefs. Ballard is not as good as Charles who only ran for 10 yards against them last weekend, but the Colts are a smarter team with a better offense and should be able to find better opportunities for Ballard.

(GB) James Jones vs. (TEN) – Jones now leads the league in touchdowns catches; start the guy leading the league in touchdowns catches.

Amendola should be a lock for a touchdown this weekend against the Buccaneers.

(STL) Danny Amendola vs. (TB) – In his first game back from injury, once again, Amendola caught his third touchdown pass of the season on 12 targets. Amendola has seen games with targets of 9, 16, 9, 19, 5, 12, 11, and 12 this season, excellent numbers; start Danny with confidence anytime he is good to go.

(CIN) Jermaine Gresham vs. (PIT) – The Pittsburgh secondary has struggled the last few weeks, allowing Philip Rivers to have one of his better games of the season while and losing to Tony Romo and the Cowboys. A.J. Green is a must start this weekend as usual but can’t do it all alone. Sanu is still out and Hawkins is extremely hard to predict, so I would be very confident in starting Gresham as my tight end or in a flex spot.

Sit ‘em:

As good as Wilson has been I am not trusting him against the ’49ers defense.

(SEA) Russell Wilson vs. (SF) – In what is the Superbowl week for the majority of fantasy weekends, I would not be looking to start either Wilson or Kaepernick in their Monday night matchup against each other. The Seahawks and ‘49ers host two of the best defenses in the entire league and have been flexing their defensive muscle in recent weeks. Despite how good Wilson has been in particular, I might try finding someone else to start in the biggest week of the season.

(SF) Colin Kaepernick vs. (SEA) – See Above ‘Russell Wilson’

(CIN) BenJarvus Green-Ellis vs. (PIT) – It has been a much better season for the Law Firm than I would have predicted, already sitting on more than 1000 yards with six touchdowns, including four 100-yard games in his last five starts. The run of success for BJGE should take a week off this weekend though when he is on the road against the Steelers, as both teams compete for the playoffs.

Wells will not be handed touchdowns against the Bears the way he was against the Lions.

(ARZ) Beanie Wells vs. (CHI) – Beanie was great last week for anyone who started him as he ran for three touchdowns before the game was through and could be a hot topic for this coming weekend. I myself however am not too interested in starting Beanie for another week, especially against the Bears. Also, Beanie was handed two of his touchdowns by the Lions themselves on turnovers in their own redzone.

(JAX) Montell Owens vs. (NE) – Montell Owens is the lone back for Jacksonville so he is almost guaranteed a decent workload, but since the Jaguars struggle so much to not fall behind, that workload is never quite as big as it could be.

Lloyd will have a tough time keeping his hot streak going as Gronkowski is likely to return.

(NE) Brandon Lloyd vs. (JAX) – ten catches for 190 yards last week, and 89 with a touchdown the week before, where has this been all season? None-the-less, I am not starting Lloyd in week sixteen if I have the choice. The Jaguars suck and could let Lloyd break a big one, but the Patriots running game and short pass game will be enough to control and win this game. Rob Gronkowski may play.

(SF) Michael Crabtree vs. (SEA) – Since I am expecting it to be a tough, low scoring game between the ‘49ers and Seahawks on Monday night, I am not expecting much from the teams wide outs. I am more comfortable in starting Michael Crabtree if I had to, as he is the more consistent receiver. The potential of Seattle CB Richard Sherman to miss this game could be very good for Crabtree however, so if it is ruled that Sherman can’t play, starting Michael is much safer.

(SEA) Sidney Rice vs. (SF) – See Above ‘Michael Crabtree’

(IND) Dwayne Allen vs. (KC) – Had a touchdown last week but only saw three targets each of the last two weeks. Against the bad Chiefs team that doesn’t allow much to opposing tight ends, am look elsewhere for a TE this weekend.

Start ‘em:

(CAR) Cam Newton vs. (SD) – Newton has been amazing for fantasy owners lately including scoring three touchdowns in week fourteen in a win over the Falcons, and should be able do something similar this coming weekend against the Chargers. The Chargers just allowed Big Ben, returning from substantial injuries to throw for almost 300 yards and three touchdowns; I am expecting Newton to account for another three touchdowns in week fifteen.

Freeman put up 420 yards and three touchdowns when he faced the Saints earlier this season

(TB) Josh Freeman vs. (NO) – With less than 200 yards and two touchdowns last week against the struggling Eagles secondary, Freeman was quite the disappointment for those who started him, but should be much better against the Saints. The Saints were just ripped by Eli Manning and the Giants for four touchdowns and Freeman did put up 420 yards and three touchdowns against them earlier this season.

(KC) Jamaal Charles vs. (OAK) – Charles would have left week fourteen after the first couple plays and still satisfied fantasy owners as he took the a handoff on the opening possession 80 yards for a touchdown. Before the game was over he had doubled his yardage to finish with 165 total yards. He only has four touchdowns on the season but is amassing tons of yards; against the Raiders, one of the worst teams in the NFL at the moment Charles might be able to replicate the performance.

(BUF) C.J. Spiller vs. (SEA) – Fred Jackson has been confirmed as out for the season so it will be Spiller getting a full workload the rest of the season, and with such a dynamic skill set is a must start the rest of way despite his matchup. Spiller is easily the best offensive weapon the Bills have and they would be wise to use him as much as possible.

Brown may have left a sour taste in fantasy owners mouths, but should still be started the rest of the way

(PHI) Bryce Brown vs. (CIN) – Brown was a massive bust for fantasy owners last week after being a fantasy gold mine the two weeks prior; don’t give up on him yet though. Brown has very nice matchups against the Bengals, Redskins and Giants over the final three weeks and with LeSean McCoy unlikely to play again this season should see healthy workloads in each game.

(SD) Danario Alexander vs. (CAR) – After watching Danario score a pair of beauty touchdowns this past weekend against the Steelers, I won’t even be thinking of taking him out of my lineup the rest of the way. I had the pleasure of picking him up in several leagues and reaped the rewards once again in week fourteen and am expecting more in week fifteen against the Panthers.

Gordon is coming off a season high 12 targets and has a great matchup against the Redskins

(CLE) Josh Gordon vs. (WAS) – Despite only 86 yards last week Gordon saw a season high 12 targets, which bodes very well for anyone who want s to employ him in the next week or so. Against the Redskins Gordon has the potential for another 100-yard game with a score like he had just two weeks ago.

(TB) Mike Williams vs. (NO) – Vincent Jackson is a must start nearly every week and should be able to tear it up against the Saints, but don’t forget about Mike Williams whom has touchdowns in back-to-back weeks and seven on the season. I am not expecting a homerun effort from Williams but I do think he can reel in 5 catches for 60 yards and a score.

(BAL) Dennis Pitta vs. (DEN) – Pitta is never a slam dunk as he is yet to have a back-to-back touchdown games this season and has a yardage high of 73, but he still has a very nice matchup against the Broncos this coming Sunday and could help out the many fantasy owners out there struggling to find a good tight end each week.

Sit ‘em:

(DAL) Tony Romo vs. (PIT) – Last week I suggested sitting Rivers against the Steelers, a decision that proved to be wrong as he threw three touchdowns, but I am still very hesitant about Tony Romo in week fifteen. Not only are the Steelers a very tough defense, but also Dez Bryant might not be able to play due to a finger injury. Early reports stated Dez was possibly done for the season while newer ones state that Dez thinks he will play (athletes always say that). Even if Bryant does play how effective will he be with a seriously injured hand? This is shaping up to be a very tough game for Romo.

RGIII was helped off the field last weekend and might not be able to help your fantasy team in week fifteen.

(WAS) Robert Griffin III vs. (CLE) – At the moment it is not even sure if RGIII will be able to play come Sunday against the browns after suffering a knee sprain in an exciting week fourteen win over the Ravens. While he will likely be the talk of the football world, it should be an open and shut close in the fantasy world; sit him. Much of Griffin’s effectiveness comes from his mobility and ability to run, a sprained knee might affect him there. Also, the Browns are terrible against the run so the Redskins should be able to find success running the ball. Finally, I would not be surprised if he was straight up unable to play or sat by the coach.

Gore has another 1000-yard season under his belt but will be hard pressed to add many more yards against the Patriots.

(SF) Frank Gore vs. (NE) – Back to back touchdown games and another 1000-yards season under the belt for one of my favorite running back Gore; congratulations! Now that is out of the way, time to get on the bench… The Patriots have been one of the best teams in fantasy against running backs, a mix of their improved defense and stellar offense that keeps other teams throwing to keep up. Despite Gore’s impressive play in 2012 I am not expecting much from him on Sunday.

(DET) Mikel Leshoure vs. (ARZ) – While he does have close to 700 yards rushing to go along with his seven touchdowns over his eleven games this season, I have some worries about Leshoure this coming weekend. First off, his 3.7 yards per carry is rather weak, while three of his seven touchdowns came in one game. This coming weekend he plays a terrible team with a decent defense in the Cardinals, and while not a terrible matchup obviously, I just think Leshoure has been a little underwhelming on the field and might struggle to gain yards (again, 3.7 ypc).

(CAR) DeAngelo Williams vs. (SD) – With over 100 total yards and a touchdown last week in the Panthers win over the Falcons, Williams was a nice play for small amount of owners who started him and might be a popular waiver add through the week. While he might be worth the waiver pick up I am not looking to add him to my starting line up. The Chargers do have a banged up defense at the moment but are still better against the run than the pass; I see Cam Newton doing most of the damage in this one while Williams is left with a stat line closer to 12 carries for 50-60 yards.

(TEN) Kenny Britt vs. (NYJ) – Even without Darrelle Revis the New York Jets are winning games lately and it can still be credited to the play of the defense. Cromartie has proved himself to be a shutdown corner at times, using his big body to disrupt the opposing teams top wide out. For the Titans that wide out is Kenny Britt, who is coming off his first 100-yard game of the season. I expect Britt to end up below 100 again without a touchdown in against the Jets.

I would seriously consider sitting Johnson against a stellar Seahawks secondary

(BUF) Stevie Johnson vs. (SEA) – The Seahawks have one of the best secondary units in the league and Johnson can’t seem to grab a touchdown while getting good yardage at the same time. Since the first three weeks of the season when Johnson scored 11, 11, and 12 points respectively, he has only broken double-digits twice. I would not be looking for Johnson even meet those numbers against the Seahawks.

(IND) T.Y. Hilton vs. (HOU) – The Houston have struggled against the pass a bit lately, and have been decimated twice by elite quarterbacks (Rodgers, Brady), but Luck is not an elite quarterback yet; case in point, last week. Luck was only able to throw one touchdown with two interceptions against the Titans last week and won’t be given an inch against a divisional opponent that is coming off an embarrassing loss and trying to secure the #1 seed in the conference.

(PIT) Antonio Brown vs. (DAL) – Brown had one of the rare touchdowns of his career last week against the Chargers, catching a 1-yard pass from Roethlisberger in the fourth quarter. Despite the touchdown, Brown still did not surpass ten fantasy points, something he has only done ONCE this season. Do not start Brown this week unless you are happy with what he has been giving you until this point.

(DET) Brandon Pettigrew vs. (ARZ) – I had trouble finding a tight end that struck me as someone people might want to avoid, so instead I will just remind people that Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew injured his ankle last weekend and is unlikely to play against the Cardinals. Make sure you find a replacement if you have been starting Pettigrew.

Start ‘em:

(IND) Andrew Luck vs. (TEN): 16/34 196 yards TD, 2INT – A very disappointing finish for Luck as he only threw for one touchdown and with less than 200 yards against the Titans defense. In such a juicy matchup and in most peoples first week of the fantasy playoffs Andrew Luck was of little help (he did better than A-Rod at least). Next week’s matchups confuses me as the Texans will host the game and will want to put the Colts in their place, but have been getting eviscerated by good quarterbacks lately.

(NYG) Ahmad Bradshaw vs. (NO): 11 rushes 33 yards – My nominee for dud of the week; Bradshaw took his 11 carries for 33 yards, getting banged up even more at some point along the way. With Bradshaw laying so poorly, rookie running back David Wilson was handed the ball 13 times and took it for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns, to go with a 97-yard punt return touchdown. As Bradshaw is the dud of the week, Wilson looks poised to be the waiver wire pickup of the week.

Moreno was great with his 32 carries against the Raiders and could be vital to a fantasy playoff run.

(DEN) Knowshon Moreno vs. (OAK): 32 rushes 119 yards TD, 4 catches 48 yards – Moreno came through for anyone who started him by getting a career high 32, that’s right, 32 carries to go with 4 catches. The end result was 167 total yards and a touchdown. Moreno has more tempting matchups coming up against the Ravens, Browns and Chiefs so he could be a key part of many fantasy playoff runs.

Maclin was targeted 13 times by Foles and could maintain his value in the next few weeks.

(PHI) Jeremy Maclin vs. (TB): 9 catches 104 yards TD – Maclin and the Eagles had a big game besting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a game winning touchdown drive, a touchdown that Maclin caught to turn his quite good 103-yard game into a very good 140 yards with a touchdown game. I would keep on starting Maclin going forward as Foles tries to prove himself and the Eagles attempt to save face.

(DEN) Eric Decker vs. (OAK): 8 catches 88 yards – Not a terrible game from Decker but still not everything I was hoping for as he failed to crack double digit fantasy points, unless it was a PPR league where he would have been a very good start. Lots of targets and good yardage but Decker has now gone three games without a score.

(BAL) Torrey Smith vs. (WAS): 1 catch 21 yards – I just can’t figure this guy out. In what was a very nice matchup, and with Flacco throwing for 3 TDs, Torrey leaves the game with 1 catch for 21 yards on only three targets.

(STL) Chris Givens vs. (BUF): 3 catches 25 yards – Givens had a rather dud game, catching only 3 passes for 25 yards despite seeing a team high 10 targets in the game; he just couldn’t seem to keep his hands on the ball (he did catch a 2-point conversion attempt in the 4th quarter). Instead, it was Brandon Gibson who saw nine targets and caught six of them for 100 yards and a touchdown, including the game winner. Both are no more than flex options, and I still like Givens as the guy to start going forward; neither is worth a start if Amendola returns.

After almost an entire season of doing nothing Britt looked ready to help owners win their playoffs.

(TEN) Kenny Britt vs. (IND): 8 catches 143 yards – Britt had some monster yardage in the loss to the Colts, catching 8 passes for just shy of 150 yards; Britt was a touchdown away from being one of the best WRs of the week. With a new offensive coordinator and Jake Locker at quarterback, the Titans throw the ball much more than the first half of the season; I am hoping for some more big games from Britt in the final weeks.

(OAK) Brandon Myers vs. (DEN): 1 catch 7 yards – Only one-catch on two targets for Myers as it was Darren McFadden who saw the bulk of the Raiders workload, including a number of short passes that may have gone to Myers in previous weeks. Even still, with the Raiders down the entire game I would have thought that Myers would get more than two targets, I am now worried about him for next week and if McFadden being back will continue to limit Myers looks.

Sit ‘em:

Rivers was surprisingly effective against the Steelers and looks more comfortable with Danario Alexander playing so well.

(SD) Philip Rivers vs. (PIT): 21/41 200 yards 3TD – A rather effective game from Rivers against one of the leagues best defenses, completing a pair of touchdown throws to Danario Alexander and one to Malcom Floyd. I think the main thing to realize is that Danario is for real and is looking a lot like the big-bodied Vincent Jackson type receiver that Rivers was missing all year. I still worry about starting Rivers every week as he had as many TDs this weekend (3) as he had in the three weekends before.

(MIA) Reggie Bush vs. (SF): 14 rushes 65 yards 5 caches 38 yards – Actually a pretty good day from Reggie considering the matchup, but am I really surprised? If you look at Reggie’s game log you might notice that he plays well against tough teams while often dropping duds against weak defenses he should be able to expose. With that said, Bush has some very nice matchups coming up against the Jaguars and Bills.

(NE) Stevan Ridley vs. (HOU): – 18 carries 72 yards TD – I expected the Patriots to win the Monday night matchup but didn’t think it would be so easy. As a result of the PAtriots having a hefty lead the entire game, Ridley was safe to get 18 carries, one of which he took for a 14-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Ridley does have another tough matchup next week against the ’49ers.

After a game like that make sure to start Wallace the rest of the way with Big Ben at quarterback.

(PIT) Mike Wallace vs. (SD): 7 catches 112 yards 2TD – Even though Big Ben is still a rather broken man, the Steelers made him attempt 42 passes in the loss to the Chargers, 22 of which he completed including three touchdowns. If Ben is going hook up with Wallace 7 times in his first game back from injury, I think we can expect Wallace to catch a few more before the fantasy season is out.

(GB) James Jones vs. (DET): 2 catches 27 yards – Aaron Rodgers seems to be struggling the last few weeks, including throwing for less than 200 yards without a touchdown this past weekend, possibly ruining many a fantasy playoff effort. With Rodgers not playing so well, the consistent play of Randall Cobb and the cycle of other receivers the Packers deal with I doubt have much faith in Jones as a starter. He will likely be having more bust games the rest of the way.

If Dez misses a few games Miles should see a boost in value.

(DAL) Miles Austin vs. (CIN): 4 catches 46 yards – Austin didn’t see a lot of work as the Cowboys came from behind to beat the Bengals and save their season for the time being. Despite Romo attempting 43 passes his leading receiver left the game with all of 62 yards while Dez Bryant had 50 with a touchdown. The big news now with the Cowboys now though is the possible loss of Dez Bryant for the season, so if the Cowboys want to maintain a vertical threat they will need more from Austin and Ogletree.

(SEA) Golden Tate vs. (ARZ): 2 catches 6 yards – Seattle had a massive lead early and just ran with it, literally. Running back Marshawn Lynch destroyed the Cardinals, needing only 11 carries to rush for 128 yards and a trip of touchdowns. After Lynch had his fill it was rookie Robert Turbin who saw 20 carries that he took for 108 yards. The Cardinals suck and Russell Wilson didn’t have to do much, meaning his receivers had even less value.

(SD) Antonio Gates vs. (PIT): 3 catches 31 yards – without a doubt, Gates is the bust of the year at tight end, leaving a game in which his quarterback through for three touchdowns with only 31 yards. Gates has only bested 50 yards twice this year and a mere 110 total yards in his last 4 starts without a touchdown. Feel free find anyone else to start and hope for the best.

Don’t expect Luck to slow things down this weekend against a divisional opponent.

(IND) Andrew Luck vs. (TEN) – Week fourteen is here and while some people may have the playoffs locked up, others still have a chance to fight and claw there way in and can’t afford any mistakes. When making a list of top-12 quarterbacks for this weekend, Luck make his appearance surprisingly high. The Titans have allowed 25 passing touchdowns so far this season and are a great opportunity for Luck to keep the momentum going. I don’t expect him to throw for another four touchdowns, but would not be at all surprised by three. * ahem * If you need some luck this weekend getting a win, Luck could be your guy…

(NYG) Ahmad Bradshaw vs. (NO) – With Brown out Bradshaw saw a very healthy workload of 24 carries and was able to put up over 100 yards with it. This weekend Bradshaw gets the Saints and should be able to top that, hopefully with a score provided he gets around 20 carries.

(DEN) Knowshon Moreno vs. (OAK) – Moreno is likely to be a ton of start lists this week, and for good reason. Moreno is poised to a full workload (24 carries last week) against a very bad defense in the Raiders. I am not a huge fan of Moreno, but would be surprised if he doesn’t find a way to put up double-digit fantasy points this weekend.

(PHI) Jeremy Maclin vs. (TB) – This one is a little worrisome, as Maclin only really has one food game under his belt with Foles throwing the ball, but still I think I will take my chances with him in week fourteen against the Buccs. Jackson is out, the Buccs are solid against the run so Bryce Brown might not be as effective as his first two starts. Maclin could see a high number of targets in this game; owners just have to trust Foles (as scary as that sounds) to get the ball to him.

(DEN) Eric Decker vs. (OAK) – Decker was extremely disappointing last week in what looked like a good matchup for him, and in his last four starts has little more 100 or so yards with one touchdown; and it has looked a though Demaryius Thomas has proved himself to be the teams obvious number one. Despite this, I think I would give Decker another shot this Thursday night against Oakland, one of the worst teams in the league right now. Manning should be able to throw for 2-3 touchdowns, so hopefully Decker can catch number nine in the process.

Despite my bad luck with him, I am counting on a big game from Torrey on the road against the Redskins.

(BAL) Torrey Smith vs. (WAS) – I have had terrible luck with Torrey Smith this season, as he seems to enjoy tough matchups. While the Redskins are a pretty easy fantasy matchup for wide receivers, they are also a pretty tough matchup on the field. Despite, Flacco being on the road where he routinely sucks, I still think he can get Torrey the ball rough times for a solid fantasy outing.

(STL) Chris Givens vs. (BUF) – Only three touchdowns on the season for Givens, but he has been fairly consistent putting up 50 or more yards in most games and seeing more targets with Danny Amendola not playing. On Sunday, hopefully with Amendola out again if you do plan on starting him, Givens will be able to have another solid game against a bad Bills defense.

(TEN) Kenny Britt vs. (IND) – Britt has touchdowns in back to back weeks now though he has had less than 50 yards in both games. Indianapolis however has been one of the worst teams against the pass this season and could be a chance for Britt to make it three in a row with a better yardage total.

Myers could be one of the best tight ends in the coming weeks; an extremely volatile position this year.

(OAK) Brandon Myers vs. (DEN) – Myers just keeps on producing and is one of the top tight ends over the last couple of weeks, including a 130-yard game last week that came with a touchdown. He is getting a lot of his value in garbage time, but with Oakland likely to be down to Denver this weekend, the trend shouldn’t change.

Sit ‘em:

Rivers’ disappointing season is poised to continue this coming weekend against the Steelers.

(SD) Philip Rivers vs. (PIT) – Rivers only has two three-touchdown games so far in 2012 and only has three touchdowns in his last three games. I would not be expecting a whole lot from Rivers come this Sunday against the Steelers. Despite a banged of defense (as usual) the Steelers are still playing well and limiting opposing quarterbacks very well.

(MIA) Reggie Bush vs. (SF) – Bush has been a tough puzzle to solve in recent weeks, having some of his best outing against tough defenses (Seahawks) and having some bum efforts against bad ones (Bills). Despite this trend, I would not be trusting Bush as anything more than a flex play in week fourteen against the ‘49ers.

(NE) Stevan Ridley vs. (HOU) – The Patriots are on a six game streak and will be at home to the Texans, but they still have a very solid rush defense and could limit Ridley’s value this coming Monday night. I don’t see Ridley rushing for more than 80 yards and might need a goal line carry to get double-digit fantasy points.

(PIT) Mike Wallace vs. (SD) – Wallace doesn’t have a touchdown in the last three weeks, and although he has still seen seven targets in each of those games, Batch is just not the kind of quarterback to go deep often; where Wallace gets a lot of his value. I am keeping Wallace on the bench until Big Ben comes back.

With Greg Jennings back on the field Jones is unlikely to help owners much come playoffs.

(GB) James Jones vs. (DET) – With only two touchdowns in his last six games and Greg Jennings working his way back into the rotation, I don’t have much faith in Jones to be a very productive fantasy starter at this point. It is looking as though you are going to need a touchdown from Jones to get much out of him going forward.

(DAL) Miles Austin vs. (CIN) – Austin was able to come up with a touchdown catch last week, but only had two catches for 20 yards to go with it. Dez Bryan is playing exceptional lately, making the oft-injured Austin a second option more often. On the road against the Bengals this coming Sunday, I would not be expecting much from Miles Austin.

Despite his run of success, Tate will have a tough time keeping owners happy against a very solid Cardinals defense.

(SEA) Golden Tate vs. (ARZ) – Tate has been a very good fantasy starter the last month, catching four touchdowns with about 200 yards over that span, but could disappoint owners who stick with him in week fourteen against the Cardinals. The Cardinals have been dismal, losing eight straight since their 4-0 start, but that is largely due to the almost complete lack of offence, not defense. Tate might be left with a very poor fantasy day as the Seahawks have a low scoring game with Arizona.

(SD) Antonio Gates vs. (PIT) – As someone who targeted Gates in quite a few leagues, expecting to be able to get him much later than elite level tight ends and expecting a bounce back year from him; that has not been the case. Gates has a measly 400 yards on the season with only four touchdowns, two of them coming in one game; I am ready to look elsewhere for a tight end this week with Gates getting the Steelers.
